Subject	Car broke down after first 3 miles in to breaking in process

Message	I didnt shift hard or anything, im taking it easy for atleast 1k miles to break it in. I was stoped, then started in first as i tried to shift in to second NOPE, nothing happened my shifter was loose. Got home and foud out that the shifter link the one that bolts to the tranny was apart. I have a extra tranny at home, any ideas on how these things are changed should i do it myself or have a tranny shop do it? any ideas would help, thanks for looking.
